POST-PRODUCTION

Post-Production includes Editing, Visual Effects, Titles, Color Grading, Audio Mixing, Sound Design & Music. This is our standard workflow for most projects:

1) Interview Video Transcript

Our first task is to create a Video Transcript from the interview footage. This is the most efficient way for us to explore and organize spoken content.

2) Interview Transcript Review/Markup

Using a simple, user-friendly web interface, members from all parties may review the Video Transcript and highlight/comment on favorite remarks and/or remarks that should not be used.

3) Paper Cut

Guided by highlighted remarks, editors at Sandman Films begin building your story using text. The result is called a Paper Cut, which is similar to a Movie Script.

4) Paper Cut Review/Markup

Similar to Step 2, text can be marked up to provide direction.

5) V1

V1 is the first fully assembled version of a video, shared via Vimeo. This is commonly known as a Rough Cut. Music, audio, color/lighting, and the precise timing of cuts are likely to be unrefined, but overall the video is in watchable condition.

6) V1 Review

You share your feedback with us using Vimeo’s timestamped video review interface, or by simply emailing us a list of changes/questions/suggestions, etc.

7) V2

The goal of V2 is to incorporate your feedback before we begin the finalization of technical aspects such as audio, color, lighting, timing, etc.

8) V2 Review

Same as V1 Review.

9) Final Color and Sound

After receiving feedback on V2, we initiate Color Grading, Audio Mixing, the fine-tuning of Musical components, enhance the timing of cuts, and apply an overall polish to the video.

10) Final Delivery

A “ready to go” version incorporating V2 feedback.

11) Final Approval

You may still request additional changes during this phase. The final version will be uploaded to Vimeo and can be downloaded in a myriad of file types and sizes.
